Oh, and no one has a map yet.They may claim to have one but we are all apprentices with AI. We should accept that we are entering new territory for which there is no map.
That’s my takeaway from my use of AI. It’s shining a light on the dichotomy between levels of thinking; revealing that one layer humans have really come to value is actually rather mechanistic..so much so that a machine can now take it over.
Thus, humans have to rediscover the level of cognition that only they can perform in an emergent implementation of AI.
Couldn’t agree more. It reminds me of Ishiguro’s book ‘Never let me go’ where the art created by clones is collected to examine if they have souls. We may be heading toward a similar question, just from the other direction.

Yes! I remember writing somewhere last year that perhaps what these systems will force us to reckon with is to be MORE human.
And absolutely, I think we should be very wary of whoever claims to have the answers right now.
